Global Generation - About Us

GLOBAL GENERATiON is a registered charity (Registered Charity No. 1106420) created on 23rd February 2004.

GLOBAL GENERATiON grew out of camping activities conducted on Pertwood Organic Farm by former north-London based charity Rise Phoenix. These activities brought together a multiplicity of cultures engaged in arts and environmental activities in a setting which was unique to most participants. The success of these events led to a meeting of minds for the establishment of GLOBAL GENERATiON as an independent charity.

American Blake Ludwig, Kiwi Jane Riddiford, Jamaican Paul Aiken, English Sara Riley, Richard Crane and Peter Rush, joined forces to create a unique model of work with young people which maintained the countryside campsite and added work in the city on green roofs, walls and spaces, water and energy systems, youth leadership, local food and healthy eating issues.

We aim to bring together people of all ages and backgrounds in practical projects that are creative and educational (e.g. cook & eat sessions, carpentry, etc.) in Wiltshire and through the projects we run in London. Experience of these projects gives young people a chance to empower themselves and take up the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the environment and to the communities in which they live.
