Being Part of The Skip Garden

From honing in my social media skills, to helping bring the garden to life for a multitude of events, and even playing chef and making my own pizzas, these 3 ½ months have been nothing short of eventful!

I started as an intern in September and was warmly accepted by all the different teams. And by being part of the morning meetings, I was able to get a glimpse into all the other amazing projects happening under Global Generation too. It has been really rewarding for me not only to hear about these projects, but also to aid in the story-telling of them.

It is extremely refreshing to see such motivated people all striving together for a common goal. With all the negatives we see in the media and happening across the globe, it is truly uplifting to be a part of a group that radiates hope and change.

Growing over this semester abroad has meant reflection on my own behavior and understanding the weight of impact. The more passionate I become about the environment and social causes, the more I want to actively encourage my friends and loved ones to be conscious of their decisions too. The little things do count because it is not about how much my one action can change a situation, but it is about how that gesture can move others to consider their decisions as well. It is about a ripple effect, which can bring communities together to incite real change. And I am very excited to bring this motivation and momentum back to the States

So a big thank you to Skip Garden and warm hugs to all whom I have crossed paths with. This was truly a very inspiring and enlightening experience.
