Parliament Hill School Local Food Production Project

Participants: Girls ages 13 – 16
Project Details: The Parliament Hill School Local Food Production Project is funded by Camden Environmental Education Network (CEEN) while GLOBAL GENERATiON implements and manages the operations.
The aims of the project are:
1. Education 2. Local Food Production 3. Carbon Reduction
4. Enterprise 5. Environmental Awareness 6. Healthy Eating

There are 15 students working on a plot of land 7.5m X 6m which is cultivated with a variety of fruits and vegetables including French Beans, Strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage and chive. The plot also incorporates two composting bin; 1 single and 1 double in which organic wastes such as weeds, dead plants and waste food (cooked and raw) are composted and reused as soil.
