Corporate volunteering days

Bring your team to help care for our community food growing spaces

Get outside, work together and help build our community food growing spaces in Canada Water and Kings Cross.

Get in touch if your team is looking to:

  • Contribute to a community space that is having a tangible positive impact on local people’s lives

  • Enjoy some satisfying, physical work away from a screen. You might be planting seeds, watering, harvesting vegetables or helping with light construction tasks

  • Learn new skills from our experienced team of gardeners, chefs and carpenters

Case studies

Braze

Braze employees support Global Generation's work in the Story Garden during their annual Volunteer Week. They have shovelled compost, built raised beds, planted vegetables, created wildlife habitats and made wooden shakes to clad a building in our new garden. Their contributions are valued by everyone using the Story Garden and we are looking forward to their future visits. "People have been really happy with the Volunteer Week and our Story Garden sessions were some of the first to fill up!"

ISG

Through working together, the ISG team moved and repotted 97 of Beuy's Acorns oak trees that were in care of the Paper Garden. While mixing soil and constructing air pots for the growing trees participants learnt about soil composition, mycelium, and role of the magnificent oak in supporting biodiversity. Importantly, they enjoyed sharing lunch in the circle of oaks they created.

Guardian

Since 2009, Guardian employees have volunteered with Global Generation, one of their official community partners, as part of their volunteering week. Staff have contributed to various projects, including building the first Skip Garden with local young people, helping set up and launch the Universe Story website and helping Global Generation's Business BTEC students set up their own enterprises.

It was a fantastic day. You really made us feel part of the amazing project, bringing together the local community, especially kids, as well as promoting sustainable living and business in a way that is fun. Highly recommended

By potting the oaks at the Paper Garden I have been able to become closer to nature which I don’t have easy access to living in a big city. I also was able to connect with some of my colleagues, most of which I have never met before. Working in a male dominated industry as a woman is intimidating to me and having this experience made me feel less anxious about that. I feel relaxed and connected after repotting the oaks. I have contributed something to the world outside my own bubble. Thank you Paper Garden

The outdoors, sunshine, nature, getting your hands dirty was genuine fun. It was good to learn from others and think about yourself and values in a much wider and more important context than just your company/job/department. I appreciated what amazing projects are going on outside typical corporate life, and how it is possible to give something back by doing and working together.
