We are a small team but do have job opportunities from time to time, which we will post here as well as on our social media channels and newsletter, so please sign up to keep up to date.

We regularly have internship opportunities.  We give you a chance to learn through doing and help you reflect on your learning as well as provide networking opportunities.  We provide internships with the garden team around horticulture and growing in urban spaces;  with the chefs in the kitchen to help cook and run our vegetarian cafe and events;  with the youth team to work alongside young people; as well as opportunities to work with the office team to gain experience of running a charity.

Lead Chef: events & catering

Part time 3 days / week, fixed-term contract (ends December 2018)

We are looking for a creative and passionate chef to lead on our events and catering in The Skip Garden Kitchen. The Events Lead Chef is responsible for all aspects of Event Catering at the Skip Garden. This is mostly onsite catering, but can also involve off-site catering at other venues and with the Skip Garden mobile kitchen bike. You will manage teams of Chefs, interns and volunteers during events. gardener 

Part-time 4 days / week, application closes on Monday 3rd September at 9am

Global Generation is looking for a gardener who is passionate about urban gardening as well as involving the community in gardening. As a Global Generation Gardener, you will be responsible for tending the plants that grow in skips, polytunnels, the glasshouse, restaurant planters and rooftops. You will engage local young people, families and volunteers in Global Generation’s gardening projects. As the Gardener you will be caring for the plants at the Skip Garden and surrounding planters and roof

freelance event chefs

We are looking for bright, talented and friendly event chefs to help us execute our events to the highest standards. You could be taking the food bike out to events around King's Cross, catering for weddings, private dining and summer parties. If you are a confident chef with prior experience of working in a busy kitchen come join us! 

This is a self-employment opportunity. You will be responsible for paying your own taxes and must be registered as self-employed or in the process of doing so. 

Marketing & events intern

Part time 2 days/ week 

We are looking for a creative and curious individual who would like to gain practical experience of marketing and events for a grassroots organisation. In this role, you will help tell the stories from our busy gardens in King’s Cross and Canada Water. Using online and offline tools you will help position the Skip Garden and its cafe as a different and quirky space to visit, hang out, engage with others in the local community and eat amazing seasonal food. You will also help with the planning and delivery of events such as supper clubs, talks and occasional private hires. You will be based in the King’s Cross Skip Garden but may occasionally need to work from our Canada Water site.
