jobs and internships
We are a small team but do have job opportunities from time to time, which we will post here as well as on our social media channels and newsletter, so please sign up to keep up to date.
We regularly have internship opportunities. We give you a chance to learn through doing and help you reflect on your learning as well as provide networking opportunities. We provide internships with the garden team around horticulture and growing in urban spaces; with the chefs in the kitchen to help cook and run our vegetarian cafe and events; with the youth team to work alongside young people; as well as opportunities to work with the office team to gain experience of running a charity.
Summer is a busy time for us with many events in the garden and beyond. We are looking for bright, talented and friendly event chefs to help us execute our events to the highest standards. You could be taking the food bike out to events around King's Cross, catering for weddings, private dining and summer parties. If you are a confident cook with prior experience of working in a busy kitchen come join us!
This is a self-employment opportunity. You will be responsible for paying your own taxes and must be registered as self-employed or in the process of doing so.
APPLY BY WED 3 MAY
Are you a budding horticulturalist who wants to learn skills by caring for a unique urban garden located in the middle of a changing King’s Cross? In the heart of the King’s Cross development site, Global Generation has created the Skip Garden, a productive site that employs innovative organic gardening techniques to teach people about sustainability and to create a blueprint for re-imagining urban spaces. As the Garden Intern you will learn from and work closely with our gardeners, who are experts in organic food growing in hard urban places. You will help tend the plants that grow in skips, polytunnels. glasshouse, restaurant planters and rooftops. There will be lots of space for you to grow your knowledge, gain new skills as well as input in the garden.
Are you interested in cooking, urban agriculture and working with young people to help them play a part in creating a sustainable future? The Kitchen Intern will work alongside the chefs, young people and volunteers in the preparation and serving of food for an exciting variety of events. The Kitchen Intern will also be expected to help with all aspects of running the kitchen - the ordering and organising of stock, the cleaning of the kitchen, and ensuring that health, safety and hygiene rules are adhered to.
