Whilst volunteering at university, Rachel found her passion for inspiring and supporting young people to make a difference to the world around them. This led to her leaving the BBC to pursue a career in youth and community work.

Now, she is an advocate of youth empowerment through education with over eight years’ training and project management experience gained at CSV, TimeBank, Global Action Plan and The Challenge Network. Coming from an Eritrean background with positive experiences of a variety of cultures gained through living and studying both in the UK and abroad, Rachel feels working at Global Generation is the perfect opportunity to support young people in not only developing themselves but also strengthening their diverse communities and, as a result, creating positive change in the world.
