We are inaugurating banqueting in the polytunnel and what better way to launch eating among the sprouting greens than a 3 course dinner celebrating all things vegetable. In our garden we sow, grow, and we eat all things beautiful and edible and at the centre of it all is a 12m rammed-earth polytunnel, known to us as the great leaf engine and your very unusual banqueting hall for the evening.
Canapes and welcome drink will be served as you wonder around our quirky oasis of calm nestled between the towers and the cranes. Chef Sadhbh and Fi will be your cooks and hosts for the evening and have devised a menu full of spices and indulgence.
Sadhbh is an innovative and experimental chef who relishes the opportunity to craft global fushion dishes that have been created with love. She enjoys making and sharing meals with friends and family and anyone passionate about food - especially when fresh vegetables, herbs and spices are at the heart of the dish. That said, her sweet tooth knows no limits, and ethical eats that support a more sustainable food system are her true love.
Fi manages The Skip Garden Kitchen and truly is the hostess with the mostest. She has a wealth of personal and professional experience cooking and eating vegan and raw foods.
Senegalese summer rolls served with peanut satay
Roast butternut squash, quinoa and blackbean burger with spiced cauliflower shawarma served with leaves from the garden
Chocolate and orange cake and blood orange sorbet, served in our mongolian yurt
Sweet chai and sweet treats around the fire
Whilst temperature in the polytunnel is usually quite pleasant, we are at the whim of the British weather. So bring an extra layer. If the sun isn't playing fair we will retreat to the warmer climes of one of our other indoor spaces.
