Skip Garden Kitchen - Grand opening 27th May

Nearly nine months in the making, the team at the new Skip Garden Kitchen are looking forward to throwing open the doors on the 27th of May. A result of collaborative design from beginning to end and entirely reflective of the way that we do things at Global Generation, we hope that it will bring our guests into the garden and bring the garden into the kitchen, thereby creating a harmonious space where you can enjoy our hyper-local, seasonal and scrumptious food.

If you’ve ever climbed into a skip to harvest cavalo nero and rainbow chard or wandered through a polytunnel plucking broad beans straight from the stem and harvesting a wonderful variety of salad, you will know the broad smile that it can put on your face. It is this feeling that we have tried to translate into the food at the Skip Garden Kitchen.

Centre stage are our super salads. Layered with seasonal leaf, vegetables, micro greens and flowers from the garden, topped with seeds, nuts and grains and dressed with tahini, date or lemon dressing, these salads are sure to make you feel great whilst lying in the sun by the ponds. For that extra healthy boost why not pick up one of our freshly pressed juices in one of three vibrant colours.

We are not just about salads and juices however. During the development process, our sourdoughs came to symbolise the culture at Global Generation. Ancient cultures and artisanal methods allowed us to discover ways of making bread that is better for you. These breads form the base for our sandwich baguettes and topped focaccias that can be picked up as a quick bite on the go. If you’re looking for a slightly more hedonistic pick-me-up however, why not indulge yourself with a cup of our triple-certified coffee or organic tea and one of our handmade cakes with an organically grown twist.

Our opening hours will be Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-4pm, so if you fancy sitting watching the final touches being put on the Skip garden, please feel free to come by and enjoy some of our tasty offerings from the safety of our seating area atop the reedbed water recycling system from 27th May.
