In honour of Open Garden Squares Weekend, chef Mickey Reedy has put together a 4 course menu of vegetarian delights inspired by the most delictable of gardens: the kitchen garden! And where better to host this than one of London's quirkiest community edible gardens: The Skip Garden.
This evening will take you on a journey through the history of kitchen gardening from the fanciful knot gardens of stately homes, the geometry of the French potager and the vegetable patches that some people believe won WW2.
Start your evening with a complimentary summer drink and explore our beautiful garden before being seated under the London sky (weather permitting - or otherwise one of our cosy indoor spaces).
On the menu...
The knot garden: potato & herb bread knots w/ ‘smoked’ butter
Dig for Victory garden: Bombay potato scotch quail’s egg with pickles
Herb garden: Parsley soup with yoghurt and tomato oil
Potager garden: Cauliflower ‘cups,’ cauliflower & quinoa rice, slow roast heritage tomatoes and morel ‘mille feuille’
Witches garden: Basil pannecotta with summer's first berries
Final menu may change slightly as it will be dependant on what we can get our hands on, it will be full of seasonal and organic produce, and it will all be vegetarian. We can cater for most dietary requirements but please make us aware of these at the time of booking as we may not always be able to accommodate them on the day.
