Supper Club: Sail Cargo

For this supper we are teaming up with the Sail Cargo Alliance, a fleet of ships crewed by passionate people who sail organic cargo across the seas and oceans,  emission free transport from Portugal and the Caribbean right to the heart of King's Cross. As the garden fills with the aromas of summer, vibrant flowers and fruits ever plumper, we will lay on a Mediterranean feast celebrating the best produce from our shores and beyond.

The evening will start with an introduction to Sail Cargo by founding member of New Dawn Traders Alexandra Geldenhuys and Gareth Maeer from Raybel Charters, a project set-up to restore a sailing barge "so she may join a growing fleet of ships able to deliver cargo by harnessing the great, unlimited power source of the wind. As well as directly reducing the carbon emissions of transport the sailing barge will act as a catalyst and inspiration to further wind-powered initiatives, joining a wider national and international network of sustainable transport enterprises."

The menu has been devised and will be lovingly crafted on the night by one of London's most sustainable kicthens and gardens: The Skip Garden Kitchen. It will all be vegetarian and here's a sneak peak of what to expect.
