Step aboard the Floating Garden barge and create wearable summer flowers from reclaimed textiles and beads inspired by the barge blooms.
How might we carry the flowers of summer a little longer? Take inspiration from the summer blooms growing on board the boat. Observe petals, leaves, strawberries, and other seasonal treasures, drawing inspiration from their colours, textures, and forms.
Using reclaimed textiles, beads, and simple weaving techniques, you will design and create your own wearable summer flowers. Whether you choose to make earrings, a brooch, a necklace, a bracelet, or another decorative piece, you will discover how reclaimed materials can be transformed into beautiful jewellery inspired by nature.
You are warmly encouraged to bring a small material or object that carries personal meaning. During the workshop, you can transform it into a new creation that continues its story in another form.
Come along to slow down, create with your hands, and enjoy the most vibrant season on London's waterways. No prior experience is needed. All materials are provided.

About the Canal Creative Calendar (CCC)
The Canal Creative Calendar (CCC) is a monthly programme of art and nature events hosted on the Floating Garden Barge, produced by the non-profit arts organisation Canal Dream CIC in partnership with the environmental charity Global Generation. It connects people with the waterways through diverse, sustainable creative activities inspired by the canal’s communities, environment, art and cultural heritage. As an emerging initiative without core funding, all ticket income supports essential costs and the continued development of community-based programmes.
