What happens to construction waste materials? Are they waste or do they hold great potential? Learn about circular materials, sustainable architecture and hands-on making at this RIBA Learning workshop with Global Generation.
Taking inspiration from Global Generation’s newly opened Triangle Site, we’ll think about how construction waste can be given a new life – from clay excavated to make room for foundations, through to timber off-cuts with the potential to be transformed. With that in mind, we’ll spend the day designing furniture for the Triangle Site’s community garden; using materials leftover from the two-year build.
What kind of magical benches and chairs can you conjure up from overlooked timber boards, unused bricks, fixings and finishes?
A free, vegetarian lunch will be provided with vegan option. Please inform RIBA Learning of any dietary requirements when you register.
