The Story Garden is preparing to move to it's new permanent home on York Way that is much smaller and we have materials, plants and other things to share. We are opening up the garden from 11 - 2 p.m. for a big clear out. Anyone can come and donations are welcome!
THE GREAT GIVE AWAY
Saturday 25 October
11am-2pm
The Story Garden, Ossulston Street, NW1 1DF
The Story Garden is moving to a smaller site
What is available?
Stuff! We will have a free ‘shop’ in the polytunnel with things we are getting rid of - art supplies, irrigation supplies, trays, kitchen equipment, building materials, paints, netting hoops, office supplies, etc.
Bigger stuff! We will have larger items such as tables, benches, planters and IBCs for storing water.
Plants! We will have garden tools (for using, not for taking) and many pots for you to come and dig up plants. Please bring your own tools if you can. Plants include things like mint, strawberries, raspberries, Hebes, lavender, roses and climbers.
Materials! We will have wood, slates, windows, soil, compost, sand and wood chip.
Even bigger stuff! There are some larger items like our 5 x 10 metre events marquee and our outdoor kitchen sink that you can arrange to pick up another day, speak to a member of the team if you are interested in taking these.
How can we move it?
We can loan trolleys, wheelbarrows and pallet trucks in 20 minute slots to organisations that are hyperlocal and not travelling very far. For farther, bigger journeys, you need to come with your own transport. Please email Carley@Globalgeneration.org.uk who will make sure there is access from the British Library. You may be given a time slot if too many cars/vans want access at the same time.
How can we support?
We can give you a site tour, offer plant specification and planting advice, and support the dismantling of larger structures. We will have staff with power tools to support dismantling, but please bring your own if you have them. We will also have plant pots for you to put plants into.
What to bring?
Bring your own bags, tools, and transport.
Staying in touch
We want to see where all of our things end up! Please send photos of how your parts of the Story Garden are re-homed.
