VOICES OF THE WATER: IMMERSE YOURSELF

As part of our Voices of the Water project we have come across so many amazing books, films and projects which explore and recognise the importance of water in our lives and on Earth, from which we find inspiration. These have included the importance and sacredness of water linked to different areas, including wellbeing, cultural heritage stories, scientific stories and discoveries and the climate emergency. We share here some of these resources for you to explore and discover as well.

Notes from the Garden
A participatory poem by Hasan & the Global Generation team. Inspired by Roi Gal-Or’s Storytelling Day at Story Garden and the prompt:
“If Global Generation was an image, what would it be for you?”
Malaika Bain-Peachey, a member of staff until March this year, shares her writing from summer 2024 before taking Paper Garden Generators to camp in Wilderness Woods and reflecting on the racist riots that broke out throughout the country. She sends this from her new place in the world where she is slowing down to the rhythm of the seasons, hands returning to the soil and writing
Homan Yousofi and fellow Global Generation member Lily Baldwin reflect on the creative process behind their sound album, which captures the life of Global Generation’s gardens.
The album weaves together recordings that tell the stories of people, animals, materials, and events from the past year—creating an immersive audio portrait of the gardens and their difference. This project stands as a celebration of the spaces and the rich, interconnected life they nurture.
