‘Through your eyes, words and hands’
This small gathering of images and words by young people is to say goodbye to the Story Garden and to 2025. As I feel there are no better eyes and no truer words to tell what happened, this page is dedicated to young people and all who supported their journey this year, humans and more-than-humans
“I thank you garden because here I played with my friends. The evenings I would have spent sad and alone without you in my life are too many to count. I have found my new self, my true spirit, soul
and body amongst your walls.
Every blade of grass, every seed and
every leaf sprouted from your space
is blessed with strength and joy.
The whispers of all the Generators before me, their voices and steps resonate in the new world.
All those who wander, the odd ones in the flow of the world are not lost in the Story Garden.
Goodbye dear friend”.
“Some amazing stuff had happened here.
You will forever be with me.
Thanks for all the memories. So many to count”
“I am thankful for all the things we have been doing and all the beautiful memories I have and the new people I have met. I am sad the garden is closing but excited about the new adventures to come. Coming to the garden is like going away from the city (in my imagination). I knew I will have a great experience for the coming years”.
“Dear Story Garden, I am writing to you today because over the years
I have really connected with nature and understood things
about life and myself I didn’t know”
“Dear Story Garden, it has been a wonderful experience being in your space.
I have made friends and
felt I grew into a better me”
“Dear garden, I thank you for the beautiful green space in a grey boring city.
My wonderful new friends and all the times
you have been supporting us”
“It has been so relaxing being here with you”
“Thanks for giving me food, new experiences, new colours and emotions, making me feel welcomed”
“Being a generator has meant for me
being a part of nature”
“Thanks for the experiences and the playing
we had amongst your plants”
“Thanks story garden for making me go camping
for the first time”
“Thanks for all the love, nurturing, education, freedom and most of all JOY
you have brought to my child”
“Thanks for giving me food, new experiences, making me feel welcomed”
“Thanks for making me have a good time
and give me hope”
This exhibition gathers images and moments made by young people in the story garden that is now closed. Through some photographs and reflections, we see how the space was lived in. As 2025 closes, this collection is a goodbye and a thank you—for what grew, what was learned, and what was felt.
